<p>A process is described for preparing a compound of formula (I), or a salt thereof; wherein X is a protecting group; and R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each independently hydrogen, C1-6alkyl or C1-6perfluoroalkyl; R5 is hydrogen or, when n is 1, R5 taken together with R3 comprises a double bond; m is 1, 2 or 3; n is 0 or 1; and p is 0, 1 or 2; by reacting a compound of formula (II) or a salt thereof; wherein R1 to R5, m, n and p are each as defined above and R6 is chloro, bromo, or iodo; with a compound of formula (III) or a salt thereof; wherein X is a protecting group and R7 is a zinc or tin moiety (such as ZnCl, ZnBr or Sn(C1-6alkyl)3); in the presence of a palladium or nickel catalyst.</p> |
