PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil compsn. for a reciprocating compressor which is excellent in the effect of preventing the formation of carbon and the deposition of carbon. SOLUTION: A mineral oil, wherein the difference between 95vol% recovered temp. (in terms of atmospheric pressure: T95 ) and 2 vol % recovered temp. (in terms of atmospheric pressure: T2 ),ΔT (T95 -T2 ), in distillation is 145 deg.C or below and the kinematic viscosity at 40 deg.C is 10 to 200mm<2> /sec, is used as a base oil. An amine antioxidant is incorporated, in an amt. of 0.01 to 5wt.% based on the total amt. of the compsn., into the base oil. Alternatively, an amine antioxidant in an amt. of 0.01 to 5wt.% based on the total amt. of the compsn. and a sulfur-contg. antioxidant in an amt. of 0.01 to 5wt.% based on the total amt. of the compsn. may be incorporated into the base oil. |
