PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to manufacture decorative moldings which are free from molding defects such as breakage and wrinkles at the time of molding and show reliable performance such as high hot water resistance or wear resistance by impregnating a decorative overlay paper with a specific quantity of a heat curable resin composition. SOLUTION: A decorative overlay paper weighting 100 pts.wt. is impregnated with 70-120 pts.wt. of a heat curable resin composition. The decorative moldings thus obtained are not overloaded with a resin and also are free from a discoloring phenomenon of an excess resin by hot water, which proves good hot water resistance. In addition, as an adequate quantity of the resin is used for the overlay paper, there is not the exposure of paper fiber due to its being not impregnated for the inadequate quantity of the resin used. The sheet 1 obtained through the described process is of the firmly cured product type and is reliably wear-resistant. The sheet 1 for decorative molding is breakage- and wrinkle-proof at the time of molding as it is thermally molded under pressure under such a state that the sheet 1 is interposed between a mold and a heat curable molding material 2. |
