PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new primer comprising an oligonucleotide used for amplification of a DNA-binding part which is present on a mating type gene of fungus and capable of carrying out classification of fungi and estimation of evolution process thereof by comparison with a base sequence in the DNA binding part. SOLUTION: This new primer comprises an oligonucleotide composed of a base sequence represented by the formula, etc., and is used for amplifying a DNA-binding part which is present on the mating type gene of fungus and can carry out classification of fungi and estimation of evolution process of fungi. The primer is obtained by designing a set of an oligomer capable of proliferating an inner fragment in a DNA binding part (HMG box) which is present on a mating type gene such as Cochliobolus Spp. of Loculoascomycetes and has high preserving property in many microorganisms based on the sequence of the DNA-binding part and chemically synthesizing the set of the oligomer.
