PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge lubrication oil, stored in a casing, in a constantly proper state as a mechanical supercharger is prevented from generating vibration. SOLUTION: A mechanical supercharger 2 having a return passage 6 to return lubricating oil in a casing 5 under own weight is disposed to the side of an engine body 1. The return passage 6 is arranged such that the inclination angleαof a line L1, which intercouples the upper stream part and the downstream part of the return passage 6, with a horizontal direction is increased to a value higher than the angleβof an oil level 01' with a horizontal direction when an oil level 01 of lubricating oil is brought into a maximum inclination state. Further, a connection part (a discharge hole 29) of a return passage 6 with the cylinder block 28 of an engine body 1 is disposed in a level higher than the position of an oil level 02' when an oil level 02 of lubricating oil stored in an engine body 1 is brought into a maximum inclination state.
