PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug connector which can reduce the mechanical stress acting on a housing and lessen the number of components. SOLUTION: A plug connector 10 has holding elements 13 and 14 formed in a single piece from a metal plate. When these elements 13 and 14 are inserted into slit structural part 31 or 32 in a housing 12, the undersurface 53 of the top 46 of each element lies at the shoulder of the slit structural part, and a locking tab 47 is positioned behind projections 22 and 23. After the holding elements are inserted, a fixing tab 49 is bent outward and accommodated in a groove 24 at the undersurface of the housing, and the elements are secured to the housing. The holding elements are also used to lock both a cable plug and the plug connector, when the locking tab 47 and projections 22 and 23 should be engaged by a locking recess provided in the cable plug. |
