PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive control apparatus which protects a drive circuit from overcurrent and which enhances the reliability of a switched reluctance motor by a method in which current amount which flows to the drive circuit at the motor is sensed and a stop signal is output when the current amount is at a reference current amount or higher. SOLUTION: A drive circuit at a switched reluctance motor is provided with a smoothing capacitor C, with switching elements Q1 to Q6 used to electrify an A-phase coil 6, a B-phase coil 8 and a C-phase coil 10 and with diodes D1 to D6 for feedback of a counterelectromotive force. At this time, a resistance Rs 50, for current sensing, which outputs a voltage proportional to a driving- current amount flowing to the drive circuit is arranged and installed. Then, the driving-current amount is compared with a reference current amount. When the driving current amount is at the reference current amount or higher, a stop signal is output, the switching elements Q1 to Q6 are set to an OFF state, and the operation of the drive circuit is stopped. |
