The invention refers to a method designed to increase functionality and precision, as well as to cut pairing and checking costs, applicable to the pairs of temperature transducers that are mainly used to check heat energy meters. According to the invention, the method consists of the fact that, in a first stage, the two temperature transducers (1 and 2) in the pair are introduced into the first thermostat bath (8), which is adjusted to the temperature t1, and the temperature of the thermostat bath is measured with a standard thermometer (4), at the same time as the output electric signals of the two temperature transducers. The two temperature transducers in the pair are introduced into the second thermostat bath (5), which is adjusted to the temperature t2, and the temperature of the thermostat bath is measured, with a second standard thermometer (6), at the same time as the output electric signals of the two temperature transducers. The two temperature transducers in the pair are introduced into the third thermostat bath (7), which is adjusted to the temperature t3, and the temperature of the thermostat bath is measured, with a third standard thermometer (8), at the same time as the output electric signals of the two temperature transducers. In another example of application, only one bath may be used, which is adjusted successively at the temperatures t1, t2 and t3, and, instead of three temperatures, the method can be applied by performing measurements at two, four or more different temperatures that are almost evenly spread within the whole measuring range for the temperature of the heat carrier tmin...tmax. Then, in a second phase, the temperature readings and measuring errors of the pair of temperature transducers are determined by calculation, and the measurement result is evaluated and then accepted or rejected.
