<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To faciltate a handrail fitting operation and improve safety of a stairway by fitting the lower ends of respective balusters of a handrail to a plurality of handrail supporting members provided on the side girder of a stairway so as to be able to fall inside the width direction of the stairway, and fixing them to the handrail supporting members or the side girder in the standing state. SOLUTION: A handrail supporting member 3 is formed out of a U-shaped bent plate for fitting to a baluster 4a, and joined to the upper face of a side girder 2. By letting a pin-like member 5 penetrate through extending from the handrail supporting member 3 to the baluster 4a in the lengthwise direction of the side girder 2, the baluster 4a is connected to the handrail supporting member 3 capably of falling inside the width direction of a stairway. In the standing state of the baluster 4a, a bolt 6 is inserted through bolt insert holes provided on a pair of opposed pieces 3a, 3a of the handrail supporting member 3 and the other lower end of the baluster 4a, and a nut is threadedly fitted so as to fix the baluster 4a to the handrail supporting member 4a. Transport and storage are conducted in a state of falling a handrail 4 on a stairway 1, and after installing the stairway 1, the baluster is raised up around the pin-like member 5 and fixed with the bolt 6. Hereby the handrail 4 can be efficiently installed by one person.</p> |
