PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the disconnection of drain signal lines. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is formed with the gate signal lines which are extended in an (x) direction and are disposed in juxtaposition in a (y) direction and drain signal lines 3 which are extended in the (y) direction and are disposed in juxtaposition in the (x) direction on the surface of the liquid crystal side of one transparent substrate 1 of the transparent substrates disposed to face with each other via the liquid crystal. Thin-film transistors(TFTs) which are turned on by the supply of scanning signals from the gate signal lines and pixel electrodes 4 to which the image signals from the drain signal lines 3 are impressed are formed via these turned on TFTs in the respective pixel regions enclosed by these signal lines. The successive laminates of the insulating films and semiconductors formed in the regions where the TFTs are formed are used as the innterlayer insulating films of the drain signal lines 3 to the gate signal lines. These laminates 5 are not formed in at least the pixel electrode forming regions. In such a case, the laminates 5 are extended and formed as the lower layer films of the drain signal lines 3 and the drain signal lines 3 are formed by covering the laminates 5 which are the lower layer films thereof up to their flanks.
