PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a filter cartridge so that while small granulated powder of >=200μm width is prevented from passing through an outlet opening of a base part, a flow of liquid to be purified may be well maintained. SOLUTION: In a filter cartridge which is provided with a screen at the outlet opening thereof and which has approximately the shape of a cup opened at the top and closed by a cover and which is provided with a base part 1 having at least one outlet opening 2, a screen means 12 and a sidewall 3 and which can be packed with granulated powder filter material for filtering liquid such as water, one to sixty-four outlet openings 2 each have holes between fibers of 50 to 300μm, preferably 80 to 200μm, and each are provided with fabric-like inserts 12 having plastic frames 11.
