PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide shoes with improved bendability and a manufacturing method therefor which enables efficient production of the shoes by utilizing the advantage of having a rib on insoles, concerning the shoes produced by a Goodyear welt type making process in which a suspended part and a welt of each upper is blind stitched on the rib of the insole. SOLUTION: In shoes 1 produced by a Goodyear welt type making process, a tread part of each insole 2 with no rib 3 formed at a part corresponding to a bent part thereof is used and extra pieces 4a and 4b are provided at positions corresponding to a rib cut part of the insole 2 both on an upper leather 4A and a lining 4B of an upper 4. The extra piece 4b of the lining 4B bent inward is suspended onto the insole 2 and the extra piece 4a of the upper leather 4A is bent outward to be put outside. An outsole 6 is outsewn on a welt 5 thereby achieving a higher bendability of the shoes.
