PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable ink jet recording apparatus equipped with a tube pump low in torque for driving the pump and long in the life of a tube. SOLUTION: The pump 15 provided to an ink jet recording apparatus is equipped with a flexible tube 103 and the guide member 106 on which the predetermined part of the tube is placed. At least one roller 105 pressing and deforming the tube 103 is supported by a lever 107 so as not only to press the tube when the roller is rotated in a positive direction but also to relax the pressing of the tube when the roller is reversely rotated. This lever 107 is urged by a spring 108 in the direction pressing the tube by the roller.
