PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety fence for an escalator to be stably stood on an upper chord material of a main frame without interfering elevator structural members including an outer deck. SOLUTION: This safety fence for an escalator is provided with a lower bracket 1c, an upper bracket 1d, a connecting member 1e for connecting these brackets 1c and 1d, a support receiver 1b extended in the opposite direction to an exterior plate 3, and a support 1a stood in the support receiver 1b. With this structure, an upper chord material 2 can be pinched by an engagement 9 of the upper bracket 1d and the lower bracket 1c from over and under thereof, and the support receiver 1b to be fixed through these brackets 1c and 1d can be arranged in a clearance between the upper chord material 2 and a skirt guard 5.
