METHOD OF THERMOCHEMICAL TREATMENT OF METALS

FIELD: thermochemical treatment of metals by their electric heating in solid powder medium; applicable in various industries. SUBSTANCE: metal articles are subjected to saturation at temperature of 500-1250 C in solid powdery conducing medium which is placed into cells with shape similar to that of treated article. Cells have one side wall and bottom made of dielectric material and the other side wall is formed by the surface of treated article. In this case, electrodes to which voltage is applied are located along side dielectric wall uniformly and at the same distance from surface of treated article.
