METHOD OF SHUTTING-OFF PIPELINE

FIELD: oil-and-gas industry and nuclear power. SUBSTANCE: metal ring is preliminarily fitted on outer surface of pipeline to be shut off. Sizes of cross section of ring are no less than thickness of pipeline wall, and strength and plastic properties of material of ring are no worse than those of material of pipeline. Then pipeline with ring is crimped by two metal plates fitted on opposite sides of pipeline at spaced relation to it and at acute angle relative to each other and to axis of pipeline. Plates are simultaneously accelerated towards each other by explosion of explosive charge located on outer side of each plate. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 dwge
