SUBSTANCE: apparatus has stepped die and multiple-roller expansion head. Number of head rollers is equal to number of pyramid faces. Die has cylindrical and many-sided parts. Number of faces of many-sided part is equal to number of pyramid faces. Many-sided part of die serves as remover. Method involves using billet made from sheet material and formed as truncated pyramid; placing billet into die so that billet faces come into contact with cylindrical part of die; forming branch pipe by means of expansion head in many-sided part of die; simultaneously cutting branch pipe end by means of head.
