The lorry has a container (2) and a container lifting device (3). The lifting device has a U-shaped chassis (10) with wheels (13,13') having fully floating axles. Compressed air bellows over the wheels can lower the container from a transport position to a container loading position and return the container to the transport position after loading of the container onto loading shafts of the chassis. The container sides (23) have overhanging edges (21), which rest on the upper edges (20) of the chassis or of the chassis carrying frame (19).
