The invention relates to an interface for generating process and co-ordination inputs, in the form of a computer mouse comprising a housing having at least two sections, a base part (10) and an upper part (20) which are detachably connected to each other. A user interface having at least one input element (17, 23, 24) is arranged in the upper part (20) as well as a transmission device (11) which is connected to the input element (17, 23, 24) and optionally to a position recording device (11) and is mounted on or in the base part (10). Said transmission device (11) is used to transmit the input signals received by the input element (17, 23, 24) or the position signals received by the position recording device (11). A first connection element (16) connected to the transmission device (11) is located in or on the base part (10), and a second connection element (22) connected to the input element (17, 23, 24) is located in or on the upper part, said connection elements (16, 22) being arranged in such a way that they form an electric, detachable connection when the base part (10) and the upper part (20) are interconnected.
