The slip-control system uses an electronic control unit which detects the vehicle movement for initiating the slip control within a defined slip control range, with adjustment of the slip control range in dependence on the warming resulting from the slip control, to prevent overheating of the blocked clutch. The control unit may calculate the heating of the blocked clutch for comparison with a reference value, or may compare a detected oil temperature with a reference value, for indicating clutch overheating.
