Life span testing system for V-belt and V-rib belt esp. of vehicles

The testing process measures the life of V-belts and V-ribbed belts for long term examination of belts of different lengths and widths fitted in vehicles in ambient temperatures of between room temperature and 120 deg. C. Operation of the belt close to its operation in practice is provided via an electric angular speed and moment regulation. Particularly with the aid of frequency analysis the force cycle on the tension roller and the idling disk is determined and/or adjusted and the rotation uniformity is measured. The system for testing the belts includes an industrial PC for automisation with regulation, for visualisation, operation and analysis. Preferably two transputer assisted interface cards are provided for process coupling and for carrying out the regulation. Each transputer is adapted to communicate with the PC via a link adaptor.
