The disclosed cash-free account-to-account payment system involves a transfer device (5) equipped with input and output media and a device-readable authorization card (1) comprising a fixed data store. The card contains an additional store, i. e. a nonvolatile read-write memory for storing data from transfer requests, which has to be described by the transfer device (5) using a write device (20) forming part of the output medium. The input made into the transfer device (5) is stored in the authorization card (1) which will then be read by a memory-read device (30) located in the bank, followed by the execution of instructions being initiated in an accounting mechanism (25). The billing device can provide bills with a bar code (12) containing, in an encoded form, at least the general data related to the device itself and, preferably, also the accounting data. The billing device then makes such an input into the transfer device (5) using an integrated bar code reader (6), thereby enabling cable transfer to the bank of data decoded from the bar code. |
