<p>The invention concerns a biological method for purifying waste water to produce an effluent with low content of carbon and oxygenous nitrogen compounds comprising a denitrifying step, by activated sludge treatment, associated with clarification, followed by a nitrifying step and comprising a partial recycling of the nitrated effluent upstream of the activated sludge treatment. This method is characterised in that the carbon is eliminated, during the activated sludge treatment, in the same biological reactor, this elimination being carried out depending on the delivery and pollution characteristics of the treated water, in the presence: of oxygen constituting the nitrated compounds, the carbon eliminating step comprising a simultaneous denitrification, of oxygen supplied by artificial ventilation, continuous or discontinuous and therefore with direct oxidation of carbon, simultaneously of oxygen constituting the nitrated compounds and of oxygen supplied by artificial ventilation continuous or discontinuous, and therefore with simultaneous denitrification and oxidation of the carbon. The control of the method is ensured by the continuous measurement of the oxidoreduction potential of the anoxic medium, this measurement being coupled with: a device for the automatic control of means for supplying supplementary air on the anoxic sludge and an adjustment of the recycling flow of the nitrified liquor.</p> |
