Use of 1-10 carbon (C) (hydroxy)alkyl esters (I) of geminal dialkoxyalkanoic acids, derived from linear 2-6 C alkanoic acids, for producing deodorizing cosmetics. Use of geminal dialkoxyalkanoic esters of formula (I) for producing deodorizing cosmetics is new. R<1> = linear or branched 1-10 C (hydroxy)alkyl; R<2>, R<3> = linear or branched 1-8 C (hydroxy)alkyl, alkoxy or acyl; n = 0-4.
