WEB MATERIAL COMPRISING A TACKIFIER

A dispenser for tack pads has an open-fronted body (21) with a door (22) which can be raised to enable a stack of tack pads (1) to be located in the dispenser. Pads can be peeled one at time from the bottom of the stack through an opening in the bottom of the dispenser. Each pad (1) is provided with a liner (2) on its lower surface and there is a low adhesion coating on the bottom surface of each liner, to assist removal of the pads from the dispenser. One form of tack pad which can be used in the dispenser is formed from a non-woven cross-laid web which is needle-tacked and thermally/chemically bonded and impregnated with a tackifier. Preferably, the tackifier is an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive and is applied to the web as an aqueous dispersion together with a binder resin in the form of an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer.
