A herbicide-safener combination comprises (A) 1-(3-methoxycarbonyl-6-trifluoromethyl-pyridyl-2-ylsulphonyl)-3-(4,6-dimethoxy-pyrimidin-2-yl)urea (A1) or its salt as the herbicide; and (B) (a) one or more safener compounds of formula (B1) and (B2) and/or (b) one or more hormonally active growth regulator. X = H, halo, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, NO2 or 1-4C haloalkyl; Z = OR1, SR1, NR1R2, or an N-linked saturated or unsaturated 3-7 membered heterocycle (with 1-3 heteroatoms including at least one N, optionally substituted by 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or optionally substituted phenyl); R = 1- or 2C alkane diyl (optionally substituted by one or two 1-C alkyl or (1-3C alkoxy)carbonyl); R1 = H or an optionally substituted aliphatic hydrocarbon; R2 = H, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy or optionally substituted phenyl; n = 1-5; W = divalent 5-membered partially saturated or heteroaromatic heterocycle (with 1-3 heteroatoms comprising at least 1 N and optionally one O). |
