The printing process makes use of a multilayer drum which transfers ink from the inside to the perforated pattern master (7) stretched around the drum. The inside wall (1) of the drum is perforated and ink is pressed through the perforations from an inner ink applicator (20). An absorbing layer (3) separates the inner perforated wall from an outer porous wall (6) through which the ink passes to the master. The inner storage layer is rigid while the outer, ink dispensing layer is flexible. An outer pressure roller (30) presses the copy sheet (15) against the master.
