ANTENNA SYSTEM

An antenna system mounted in a mobile radio which is reduced in element length and increased in strength without causing any characteristic deterioration even when its antenna that can be housed in the main body of a telephone set used for a portable radio set or can be pulled out of the main body is housed in the main body. The antenna (40) is constituted of a helical antenna (41) having a feeding section (42) and a whip antenna (43) having a feeding section (44). The whip antenna (43) is passed through the helical antenna (41) in a state where the antennas (41 and 43) are electrically insulated from each other. Since the antenna (43) is passed through the antenna (41), an antenna system for portable radio having a reduced element length and increased strength can be obtained.
