A coating agent which contains one or several hydroxyl group-containing, optionally modified polyesters and one or several cross-linking agents which react with the hydroxyl groups is characterised in that the coating agent contains as binder a mixture of A1) 35 to 95 wt % one or several hydroxyl groups-containing polyesters (A1) with an OH number from 15 to 210 mgKOH/g, an acid number from 10 to 120 mgKOH/g and a number average molecular weight from 500 to 6000 g/mol; A2) 2 to 50 wt % one or several water-dilutable, modified epoxy resin esters (A2); and A3) 0 to 20 wt % one or several water-dilutable, hydroxyl groups-containing, epoxy resin-modified alkyd resins (A3). The sum of the weight percentages of components (A1) to (A3) equals 100 wt % and the weight percentages are given in relation to the solids in the binders (A1) to (A3).
