The invention concerns a flame- and fire-proof arrangement (1) for preventing fire from spreading from one cable route (2, 18) to an adjacent cable route (2, 18) in nuclear power plant systems which are subject to technical safety requirements. To that end, the flame- and fire-proof arrangement (1) is provided for nuclear power plant cables (8) guided in at least one cable route (2, 18), the arrangement comprising an active substance which foams under the effect of heat and, after foaming, seals the cables (8) and a space (F1 to F8) about the cables at least partially such that flames are prevented from spreading to a component adjacent the cable route (2, 18).
