PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a header unit for a heat exchanger, which is inexpensive and has good assembling workability and freely designable feature. SOLUTION: The header unit which is connected to individual heating tubes of the heat exchanger through a plurality of communication tubes, is constituted of a block 1 which is provided with a straight hole that serves as a header 3 and a plurality of straight holes 4, 4, etc., that communicate with the header 3. The header unit of such a structure can be obtained by performing only mechanical operation to the block 1, thus simplifying the structure and lowering the cost. Further, a functional member 5 can be fitted into the straight hole 4 of the block 1 to achieve high performance without rendering the size large.
