PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detector capable of detecting tires when the tires reach a wheel stop position installed in a drive-in place of a parking device. SOLUTION: A support fork 13 is provided in a wheel stop position 11, and a recessed part is formed on the upper face of the support fork 13 by holding plates 22. A sensor 16 is arranged in the recessed part, and a fork cover 19 of rectangular pipe shape for covering the support fork 13 is inserted through so as to be rotatable. Energizing members 20 such as a plate spring 20a, a tension spring 20b and a spring member 20c are fixed to the lower face of the support fork 13 to put the fork cover 19 in a floating state. The tire 24 can be quickly detected in any position regardless of the vehicle width if it is on the support fork 13 in the floating state.
