PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pulp sheet, by which the pulp sheet having excellent bulkiness and excellent optical characteristics such as whiteness and opacity can be produced. SOLUTION: This method for producing the pulp sheet has a process for increasing the surface anion amount of pulp in a pulp slurry used in a paper- making process and then adding to the pulp slurry a compound which has a lyotropic degree of >=4% measured by a specific method and satisfies either one of (i) a standard bulkiness-improving degree of >=0.02 g/cm<3> , (ii) a standard whiteness-improving degree of >=0.5 point, and (iii) a standard opacity-improving degree of >=0.5 point.
