<p>A sealing member for a multi-well microfiltration plate (10) comprises a flexible sealing material (20), which in response to the application of differential pressure, will flex or collapse in the direction of filtration along the contour of each individual well (12). A process maintains a differential pressure substantially constant over a multi-well microfiltration plate (10) comprising placing said flexible sealing member (20) over the surface of the multi-well microfiltration plate (10) having individual wells (12), stretching the flexible sealing member (20) so as to seal the perimeter of each individual well (12), creating a differential pressure around said multi-well microfiltration plate (10) covered with said flexible sealing material (20) and filtering a material (22) from each occupied well (12) at a rate independent of the filtration rate of any other well (12) while maintaining a substantially constant differential pressure around the multi-well microfiltration plate (10) until filtration in the last well (12) containing material (22) is complete.</p> |
