The radiator for the IC engine is normally cooled by the ram effect when the vehicle is moving. To generate enhanced cooling, to support temporary increases in engine torque, water is sprayed over the front of the radiator honeycomb from a series of spray jets (4). The water is taken from a tank under the radiator and is pumped at 1 to 5 bar. The spray jets cover the front of the radiator with a fine droplet spray pattern. . The radiator has a capacity of 30 to 200 litres. Excess water drains back into the tank.
