An optical apparatus comprises an image forming optical system having a movable lens for varying an image forming position, a lens driver for causing the movable lens to move along an optical axis of the image forming optical system, a temperature sensor for detecting a temperature relative to the image forming optical system, a memory which stores control data for use in controlling the lens driver, in such a manner that the control data respectively correspond to a multiplicity of temperature areas different from one another, and a controller for controlling the lens driver, the controller detecting from among the multiplicity of temperature areas a temperature area which contains the temperature detected by the temperature sensor, and controlling the lens driver by employing the control data which corresponds to the detected temperature area. <MATH> |
