摘要 |
There is disclosed a process for treating high sulphur petroleum coke particles prior to incorporating thereof into a carbon mixture, for obtaining a carbon article or shaped electrode, wherein said petroleum coke particles are subjected to a reaction, in absence of a binder, with a compound containing an alkali metal which is selected from the group contanining sodium and potassium at 1200 to 1400 degrees Celsius. Thereby obtained coke particles and said compound are kept at the above-mentioned temperature during at least 30 seconds. Thus treated articles are cooled down, thereafter being, if desired, mixed with the carbonaceous binder and then formed into the shape of the carbon article or shaped electrode. Carbonaceous filler used in the process for the production of carbon electrodes as well as an apparatus for processing raw petroleum coke articles is the subject of this solution. |
