A foldable container

A foldable re-usable container of parallelopipedon shape has opposed side walls 4, opposed end walls each of which is formed by triangular wall portions 5 and opposed lid and base 3. The container is formed by two identical and separable parts 2 each of which is a one piece plastics moulding. The two container parts 2 are connected and interlocked by retaining means 6 and 7 to form the container with a split line extending diagonally through the opposed end walls. The end wall portions 5 and side wall 4 are pivotally connected to their respective base or lid 3 by plastics film hinges so that each part 2 can be collapsed for the portions 5 to overlie and rest on the base or lid 3 between that base or lid 3 and the side wall 4 which is pivotted to rest on the folded-in wall portions 5. Projections 9 and recesses 11 are provided on the base/lid 3 which co-operate between adjacent collapsed container parts 2 in forming a stable stack thereof. Strips 22, 23 and recesses 23A are provided on the lid/base 3 to co-operate between adjacent containers in a stack to provide lateral stability between the containers.
