<p>The IC engine consists of a block with a series of cylinders containing pistons (14) connected by rods to a crankshaft (16). The crankshaft is set in two end bearings (20) and has straight projections at either end of the engine, carrying pulleys (32, 34) connected by belts (54, 56) to a driven shaft (40) with a propeller (58). The driven shaft pulleys (50) are of greater diameter than those on the crankshaft projections. The pulley belts are of trapezoid cross-section, and the pulley grooves are shaped to match.</p> |
