PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain gaseous oxygen useful for a steelmaking process and an iron- making process by forming air flow as vapor state and liquid state, bringing both the states into mutual contact in the air flow and producing oxygen-enriched liquid air fraction. SOLUTION: Compressing heat of the air flow compressed with a compressor 2 is removed with an after-cooler 4 and steam and carbon dioxide are removed with a refining device 6. A part of this refined air flow is passed through a main heat exchanger 8 and cooled to an almost saturated temp. and supplied to the bottom part zone of a high pressure rectifying tower 14 as the vapor state air flow. On the other hand, the remained part of the refined air flow is further compressed with a booster compressor 18, and the compressing heat is removed with an after-cooler 20, and then, this air flow is passed through the main heat exchanger 8 to form the liquid air, and this liquid air is supplied from the bottom zone of the high pressure rectifying tower 14 toward the upper part. In the high pressure rectifying tower 14, the elevating gaseous air flow and the lowering liquid air are brought into close contact to produce the oxygen-enriched liquid air fraction at the bottom part and gaseous nitrogen fraction at the top part. By this method, the oxygen-enriched liquid air fraction for supplying a gas containing 97-98vol% oxygen useful for the steelmaking process and the iron-making process, is obtd.
|
