The method involves determining real speed of a crankshaft during a phase of end of rotation and verifying whether the real speed lies in a predefined range of tolerance around a predefined set point of speed. A corrective ignition of an air/fuel mixture is triggered in a selected cylinder of a heat engine for permitting the real speed of rotation of the crankshaft to lie in the range, if the real speed is not in the range. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an information medium comprising a computer program for implementing a method of controlling end of rotation of a crankshaft of a heat engine (b) a heat engine control apparatus.
