<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin blend useful in the production of sheets and films excellent in weather resistance by mixing a thermoplastic aromatic polycarbonate resin with a specified compound. SOLUTION: This blend comprises a thermoplastic polycarbonate resin, desirably a phosgenation product of bisphenol A with an aliphatic dibasic acid represented by the formula: HOOC-R<1> -COOH(wherein R<1> is an alkylene) and an ultraviolet-absorbing amount of a compound represented by the formula. The blend may further contain an impact modifier (e.g. ABS polymer) and/or a fibrous reinforcement (e.g. glass fibers). A film obtained from the blend is useful to coat or laminate a molded polycarbonate article. It is also useful for thermoplastic molding of articles such as structural panels.</p> |
