PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply perform a complicated and a high degree editing work even when an editing device and a recording device are disposed in separated places without moving these devices. SOLUTION: A camcorder 1 is connected to a personal computer 13, and a reproduced picture signal and position information for showing a position of the picture signal on a magnetic tape 2 are outputted by the camcorder 1 to the personal computer 13, and program information for controlling reproducing operation of the camcorder 1 is produced by the personal computer 13 using the picture signal and the position information, and is outputted to the camcorder 1. Then, the camcorder 1 is connected to an installation type VTR as the recording device, and the reproducing operation of the camcorder 1 is controlled by the camcorder 1 itself based on the program information outputted by the personal computer 13, and also recording operation of the installation type VTR is controlled as well.
