PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of fog and reduction in image density related to spherical fine particle toner, and provide a toner suitable for electrophotograph of high quality by setting the atomic number ratio of fluorine to carbon on a toner particle surface to a specified value. SOLUTION: In an electrophotographic toner having a spherical toner particle containing at least a binder resin and a coloring agent, the atomic number ratio F/C of fluorine to carbon on the toner particle surface is 1.0%<=F/C<=40.0%. With less than 1.0%, flowability is not sufficiently increased, and with more than 40.0%, control of toner charging quantity is difficult. The ratio is more preferably 2.0%<=F/C<=25.0%, further more preferably 2.0%<=F/C<=20.0%. Further, the volume average particle size Dv of the photographic toner is 0.1μm<=Dv<=6.0μm. From the viewpoint of a higher quality of image, Dv is more preferably 0.1μm<=Dv<=5.0μm and, further more preferably, 0.5μm<=Dv<=4.5μm. Thus, the characteristic suitable for a higher quality of image of a small particle size spherical toner having a narrow particle size distribution can be exhibited.
|
