VULCANIZABLE RUBBER COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vulcanizable rubber compsn. which is based on cross- linkable unsat. chain polymers and is useful for producing automotive tire treads. SOLUTION: This compsn. is prepd. by compounding cross-linkable unsatd. chain polymers contg. a natural rubber and at least one copolymer obtd. by copolymerizing a conjugated diolefin with a vinylarom. hydrocarbon with a reinforcing carbon black. The copolymer is obtd. by the 1,2-addition type copolymn. of at least 50wt.% conjugated diolefin with a vinylarom. hydrocarbon so that the 1,2-structured olefin parts account for 30-70wt.% of the total wt. of the copolymer. The carbon black compounded has such characteristics that the DBP absorption measured according to ISO 4656-1 is 110ml/100g or higher, that the decrease in DBP absorption measured after compression according to ISO 6894 is 25ml/100g or higher, and that the surface area measured by CTAB(cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) absorption according to ISO 6810 is 120m2 or lower.
