PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency AC TIG welding machine and its method which is free from arc drift even in low current density welding and which therefore is capable of high arc stability. SOLUTION: In an AC TIG welding machine; in which electricity is supplied to a welding torch 8, through a rectifier 1, inverter 2 and high frequency transformer 3, and further through a secondary side inverter 4 in one way and through a reactor 5 in the other way; in which a current bypassed from the reactor and taken out is fed back to the inverter 2 and supplied to the welding torch 8 through a pulse waveform controller 6 and a pulse width controller; and in which waveform of current, voltage, etc., are controlled; the current is designed to have a waveform of 500Hz or above, with the peak/base current values to have outputs ranging from 1.2 to 7.0; and welding is carried out under the above conditions. |
