PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve discharge characteristics by discharging ink from an outlet by staggering the specific timing of bubbling relatively in making ink bubble by driving two of a plurality of electro-thermal converting elements which can be driven independently in a channel communicating with an outlet. SOLUTION: Ink is discharged by driving heaters SH1, SH2 with an ink channel 12 filled with ink by forming a miniscus in an outlet 11, and making a sudden conditional change occur in ink by giving heat energy to it by action force based on it. In such a case, in driving the two heaters SH1, SH2, the timing of bubbling by the drive of more than 2 heaters H1, H2 is staggered relatively to the extent that the discharge of ink will not become smaller as compared with a case where bubbling is made to occur simultaneously by more than two heaters H1, H2. Suppose the time by which bubbling timing is relatively staggered is T, preferably bubbling timing should be relatively staggered relatively within the limits of 0<|ΔT|<0.5μs. |
