PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an interlining having both good rebounding resilience and dimensional stability and further excellent retention of a shape. SOLUTION: This interlining comprises a polyester fiber the scattering figure of which obtained by photographing the fiber by small angle X ray scattering is a four point scattering figure like a layer line, having 8-15nm Dm value and 20-35nm De value of a long period obtained from the photograph and satisfying the following conditions of (1) to (5):(1) the specific gravity is 1.350 to 1.385; (2) the crystalline size obtained from wide angle X ray diffraction is 2.0-4.0nm in the index for crystal face of (010), 2.3-4.0nm in the index for crystal face of (100) and 1.5-4.2nm in the index for crystal face of (105); (3) the orientation degree of the crystalline obtained by the wide angle X ray diffraction measurement is 58-85%; (4) the orientation degree of the non-crystalline region obtained by a polarized fluorescence method is 0.088-0.450; and the birefringence is 50×10<-3> -120×10<-3> .
