This electrostatic filter separates suspended impurities from a gas stream. The particles are charged by ionisation sources (9, 10). Following the sources, there is an oppositely-charged separation electrode (13) in the form of a main filter (6). In the novelty, ahead of the first ionisation source, there is at least one further, second separation electrode (11) which takes the form of a coarse pre-filtration unit (5) for larger particles. |
