PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PCR litter value relating to received respective PCR (program clock reference) sample values by obtaining a distance between a line most suitable for a set of values including the received PCR sample value, a time stamp, the previously received PCR sample value and the time stamp and the PCR sample value. SOLUTION: A packet identifier(PID) filter 106 selects information relating to a PID from a received transport stream packet and supplies it to an acquisition RAM 102. A microprocessor 108 supplies the program clock reference sample(PCRS) value and the time stamp(TS) of the selected information to a shared RAM 110. A host controller 14 decides the most suitable line from a set of the values including the received PCRS value, the TS, the previously received PCRS value and the TS inside the shared RAM 110 and obtains the distance between the line and the PCRS value. Thus, the relating PCR jitter value is measured for each received PCRS value.
